The Ria Reece Band is:

The Ria Reece Band can best be described as ‘’Soul-Rock’’, heavily rooted in Blues and Classic R&B. Powerful and soulful, Ria’s haunting vocals take center stage. This Montreal act is a five piece, including André Chevarie on guitar, Sylvain Lamothe on bass, Pascal Lepage on drums and JP Bouffard on B3 / Rhodes.

The band made its debut in 2013 with the release of their self-titled album ‘’Ria Reece Band’’. The album was nominated for two Québec Lys Blues awards: ‘’Blues & Associated Styles Album of the Year’’ and ‘’Breakout Artist’’. The album also received positive reviews from international press. ‘’I Am Entertainment’’ magazine stated that ‘’ …. Overall, The Ria Reece Band and their self-titled LP can only be described as, greatness’’. In the summer of that year, the band performed in ‘’Festival d’Été de Québec’’, a major player on the music festival circuit.

In 2014, Ria Reece and her band were finalists in the Toronto Blues Society’s TBS Talent Search. This lead to an invite to showcase in Blues Summit 7, Canada’s not to be missed biannual forum for all members of the blues music community; which includes blues in all of its forms. And the following May, the band showcased their talent in Canadian Music Week as part of Richard Flohil’s Playhouse series.

Their second album ‘’Out All Night’’ released on October 5th 2015, features a guest performance by Maple Blues Award winning harmonica player Guy Bélanger and slide guitar by guitar slinger Pat Loiselle. The album was a top 4 pick by the Montreal Blues Society for ‘’Best Self-Produced CD’’ as part of the IBC (International Blues Challenge). ‘’Out All Night’’ was especially popular on collage campus and community radio, making Earshot’s ‘’Top 200’’ as well as charting among the ‘’Folk/Roots/Blues Top 10’’ ,  ‘’Hip Hop Top 10’’ , and ‘’Top 30’’ on several stations all across Canada. The album was also on daily rotation throughout 2016 on Stingray Radio on cable TV and on DAWG.FM in Ottawa. Not to mention a few spins on Montreal’s very own CHOM.FM.

The Ria Reece band has recently performed at the Mont-Tremblant International Blues Festival and was part of the programming for the concert series ''Blues On The Rideau''. Ria was also recently invited by Pat Loiselle to perform as a guest on several dates, which include the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the West Island Blues Festival and the Montreal Folk Festival.

What is in store for the Ria Reece Band in 2017? They will continue performing and promoting ‘’Out All Night’’ on the road. However, they are already in pre-production with some new material for a third release. No release date has been set, but you can hear some of this new material which is now included in their live show.
